As a painter, I find relegating paintings to a particular period - a tedious exercise. Paintings that possesses temperament, attitude and gesture seem to me to traverse time. For me, paintings, always seem to exist within the present; its visual, we engage with its surface, we look and somehow it returns our looking - that is why every painting for me exists in the here and now.
